Become a Follower!

I have no idea who actually looks at this blog - which is kind of a scary thought. So, pretty soon I am planning to change the privacy setting on this blog to only allow people I invite to see it. I believe that if you are a follower, you should still be able to see the blog. I could be wrong, but let's assume I am not. If you want to be able to continue to see this blog, please officially become a follower now. But, be warned that if I do not know you, you will be removed :) Family - no need to do this now. You'll receive an invitation to view.

Letter to Jordan at 4

Happy Birthday, sweet girl!

You want to grow up so badly. I wish you didn't, but you cannot wait to be 4, then you can't wait until you are "big like Mommy", or big enough to drive, or whatever it is you are wanting to do.

You still love horses with a passion. You have a lot of horses, always choose a horse when we are on the toy aisle, and love to wear shirts with horses on them. We discovered a tv show called Horsland and you love it! You almost always ride on your rocking horse while you watch Horseland. Santa got you the complete series on DVD for Christmas, and you couldn't believe your eyes!

You have a very active imagination. So often you are riding around on an imaginary horse. You keep several imaginary horses, and they all have names, and they all are different colors. Many times you will take your horses to school or to the YMCA. You get very upset if you forget to get them and allow them to get in the car. If that happens, we have to go back inside and pretend to get your horses so you won't be sad.

You can spell your name out loud, and are starting to be able to write it. Your favorite things to draw are a turkey (tracing your hand) under a rainbow, and pictures of your family, mostly me. You are learning so much in preschool and you seem to enjoy it a lot. You have made several friends there.

But, you are still best friends with Ian, Amory, and Charlie. The four of you are inseparable (as are your mommies). Things are starting to get a little tougher because Amory and Ian are attending school more often and we don't get to see them as much. But, you have been handling the change really well.

You love Chinese food and you stuff yourself everytime we have it. Your favorite is Fried Cheese Wontons and when we ask you where you'd like to go to eat out, you always say "the place with the wonton cheese!" Your face lit up like a Christmas tree the first time Daddy made cheese wontons at home. Then, you started asking for them all the time.

You love to play games on the computer (PBS and Nick Jr. online) and will spend close to an hour on it.

You are playing with Trevor really well. He is finally big enough to play with you in your imaginary worlds. He doesn't always do what you want him to do, but the two of you play a lot together. You also fight a lot, but you love each other very much. If Trevor is still sleeping, you get very frustrated and you want him to come play with you. You are still very social. You do not like to play alone very often.

We had your birthday party at Build-a-Bear-Workshop, combined with Trevor's party. You built a bear that you named "Princess" and she wore a white wedding dress. You and all your friends had a great time. We went to the park afterward for cake and gifts.

This is what you had to say:

Favorite color: Purple and Pink!

Favorite tv show: Wow, Wow Wubbzy, Bubble Guppies, Horseland

Favorite food: Chicken Nuggets and PBJ sandwich

Favorite toy: Horses and Dollhouse

Favorite book: Angelina Ballerina, My Little Pony books, Little Bunny Follows his Nose

Favorite places to go: Ian's house, school, bouncy house, the mall

Letter to Trevor at 2

Happy Birthday, Trevor!!!

You have become a really fun little boy! You have had your "terrible two's" moments for sure, but you are a lot of fun to be around. Even your teacher at MDO, Miss Lindsay, always tells me that you are her favorite kid because you are always so happy and you are so gentle and easy going around all the other kids (even though you are the biggest).

You have developed a huge interest in cars, airplanes, "dump trucks", and anything else that "goes". Your favorite book is even called "Things that Go". You even insist on sleeping with a truck of some kind at night. I found some plush toys - a tractor and a pickup truck - for you to sleep with, and you like them, but you still always want to sleep with a car or truck of some kind. I can't believe you haven't hurt yourself rolling over on one yet!

We tried potty training a few months ago and you did great, but I decided to hold off on it for a while longer, even though you are still showing a lot of interest! We'll try again soon.

People laugh at your hair everywhere we go and say that it is so cute. I always struggle to fix your hair because it is still so fine and lightweight that it stands straight up and flies away! I don't know whether to cut it really short, or let it stay a little longer. Even your teachers at Mother's Day Out call it "Rock Star Hair", and they love it! You get so much positive attention everytime we go out, I think I have decided not to worry about it anymore.

You are still a pretty good eater, even though you have been giving us a little more trouble about it. You seem to like the "tastier" stuff, even a little spicy. You like pasta, spaghetti, grilled cheese, corn dogs, peanut butter and jelly, bananas and other fruit. You and Jordan both love Chinese food, and you eat more than we ever think can fit in your stomach any time we have it.

You are talking so well! We are just amazed at how many things you can say and how many sentences you can say!

Your favorite tv show is without a doubt "Team Umizoomi". You ask for it all the time. You even sing the song, know all the right phrases, and love to put on your "umigoggles" with your hands around your eyes.

You are always dirty or sticky because you are always into something. A dirt pile is like Disney World to you!

You always want to do or have what Jordan is doing or has. You have learned a lot from her and have a lot of fun playing with her. The two of you do fight a lot, but you still have a lot of fun, too.

I did my best to interview you, even though I am not sure you really undestood what I was asking. Here is what you had to say:

Favorite color: Red

Favorite toy: Airplane

Favorite TV show: Team Umizoomi (you knew exactly what I meant by that question)

Favorite book: Things That Go (a Richard Scarry book)

Favorite food: Chicken Nuggets
